Advice from a Dancer to Another Dancer (Creative, Artist, Human, etc.)
A while ago, I came across some of my old notebooks—pages filled with scribbled notes from summer intensives, drop-in classes, and dance programs.
If you’ve ever taken a dance class where journaling was encouraged (or even required), you know what I’m talking about.
Writing after class—capturing certain quotes, insights, or gut punches—can carry you through more than just dance. It can carry you through life.
Because let’s be honest… life can be hard.
Dance can be hard.
Being human can hard.
Sometimes we need to see our own words—or someone else’s—to remind us why we’re still here and still moving. Why it is we do what we do.
What is your why?
You probably agree… or else you wouldn’t be reading this right now. 💫
I don’t know who said every quote I wrote down—but I’m grateful for each word that stuck with me.
Below are a few that I return to often. Whether you're a dancer, a creative, or just a human being navigating life… may something in here speak to you too.
(Okay, maybe not #9 unless you're deep in the dancer world —but hey, apply what fits.)
