Feeling stagnant? Here’s what to do.
You wake up. Go to your job. Hang out with the same friends. Eat at the same places. Have the same habits. Work toward the same creative goals (that somehow never get accomplished and yet always end up on your new list every year called: “{insert year here} GOALS”)… and yet you wonder why you feel like life keeps repeating itself.
You’re doing things just to do them. Maybe because you want to feel like you’re making progress doing something, but you’re not making any real progress.
You might feel like you have no strategy—just throwing wet spaghetti at the wall, hoping ONE thing will stick.
I’ve been there. And it gets old. But the good news is: you’re here, and I’m sharing EXACTLY how to get unstuck and say goodbye to stagnancy. 👋
Visualize This:
Imagine you are a free-flowing water pipe.
Your water is clear, moving swiftly and smoothly, knowing where it’s going.
But then… some tiny dirt specs get caught between the cracks.
And over time? They clog the pipe.
(Side note: stagnant pipes are the perfect place for bacteria to grow.)
Now, back to you.
What “bacteria” is growing in your life?
What keeps clogging your flow, over and over again?
Step 1: Switch Up Your Environment
Try Changing Your Furniture Around (aka Feng Shui)
It may sound small, but shifting the layout of your room can shift your energy.
Feng Shui is the ancient practice of arranging your space to create harmony with the natural world. When your space feels aligned, so does your mind.
🛋️ Rearrange your furniture, your artwork, even your plants.
🧠 The physical change can rewire your brain into seeing things differently.
This is especially helpful if you’re craving a new home but can’t move just yet. Refresh your energy without relocating.
When in doubt, change up your home layout.
Step 2: Explore Elevated Neighborhoods
New Environments = New Ideas
One of my favorite habits: driving to a beautiful, upscale neighborhood and simply walking around.
✨ You’ll see new architecture, landscaping, people, and energy.
🎧 Add a podcast (maybe even this one 😉) for an extra layer of inspiration.
Your environment impacts how you think. If you want to level up, get around places that reflect where you want to be.
Walking among beauty and abundance helps your brain believe it’s possible for you too.
Step 3: Declutter Your Space
Clear the old to make room for the new
Choose a chill day with no plans, and grab 3 bags:

Thinking About It
I personally like using these.
🧺 Start with your closet: What haven’t you worn in a year?
📝 Old journals, broken things, worn out clothes, or objects tied to a past version of yourself—let them go.
Decluttering creates space not just physically, but mentally and spiritually.
I like to sell items on: Poshmark, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and Depop.
Step 4: Journal Your Inner World
The answers are already inside you
Not every solution is external. Sometimes, what you’re looking for is already within.
Grab a pen and try Morning Pages—a practice from The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.
You just write. Stream of consciousness. No editing. No judgment.
“I wonder if it was the new magnesium glycinate supplements I started taking. I decided to journal out on my balcony with the sun shining down on my face. I’m really proud of myself for prioritizing my health, I remember when it used to be hard for me to…”
Let your thoughts lead you. You may write something that surprises you—something you didn’t even know you needed to hear.
🕊️ God speaks through writing. Give Him the space.
Step 5: Take a Class
Reconnect with your inner child
What made you light up as a kid?
🎨 Was it painting?
💃🏽 Was it dance?
🎭 Acting or music?
Take a class. Reignite the part of you that loses track of time when you’re in the zone.
Being around other creatives reminds your nervous system that play is productive. That it’s okay to have fun again. That you’re allowed to feel inspired.
If one class doesn’t do it—keep exploring. Try again. The key to getting unstuck is new experiences.
Final Thoughts
You don’t have to overhaul your entire life to get unstuck.
Just start small. Shift your space. Go somewhere new. Write it out. Try a class.
The new version of you isn’t far away—it’s just one fresh moment away. 💫
